Welcome new sailor! Whether you are a seasoned salty sea dog, or a new landlubber looking to break into the open waters, we would love to have you on our team! Sailing is a great activity for people of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're looking for the thrill of high stakes team racing or just kicking back and cruising on the lake, developing an interest in sailing can lead you in a variety of directions.
What our Club offers:
1. Sailing instruction and practice - Whether you are fine tuning your roll tack or just learning how to hoist a sail, we will teach you everything you need to know about the sailing (and boat racing). We offer professional coaching assistance as well as crash boats for safety at all of our practices.
2. Intercollegiate competition - We compete in the Midwest Collegiate Sailing Association and we host a yearly Intersectional Regatta that draws teams from all over the country.
3. The chance to travel to other schools (for cheap!) - The majority of our racing season is spent on the road travelling to regatta's throughout the Midwest. Many of these trips are inexpensive to take and most schools house visiting teams. This gives you an opportunity to see other colleges and lakes throughout the Midwest while still being with a close group of friends.
4. Social fun! - The sailing lifestyle is not just on the water, the sailing community has just as much fun off the water as we do on the water! We host several social events throughout the year and at away regatta's when not competing many of the sailors are relaxing and socializing. It's a perfect way to make new friends from around the country!
Come learn about the sport of sailing, make some new friends, and try your hand at boat racing! To get started simply head over to our contact page and send us an email or check us out on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest information.
